Why Northland?

I was attracted to Northland College because of the focus on the environment and sustainability in the curriculum and campus culture. This is further demonstrated by the Hulings Rice Food Center, Mary Griggs Burke Center for Freshwater Innovation, Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute, and the Center for Rural Communities. These are all areas of interest for me. I like the sense of community and place.

Courses

Limnology, Ichthyology, Fisheries and Wildlife Techniques, Ecological and Environmental Sciences, and any water resource- or life science-related courses. I enjoy teaching about water and its importance in our lives and environment. “Water is life.”
