Find Your Place
You’re not only in the process of picking a college—you’re choosing a community, too. Where you end up will impact how you spend your free time, who your friends will be, and how you view the world after college.
Step Into Our Playground
Ashland, Wisconsin, a community of just under eight thousand people, is tucked along the south shore of Lake Superior and is just minutes away from the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and over a million acres of national forest.
Campus is an easy walk to downtown Ashland, where students often hang out at the Black Cat Coffeehouse, the Bay Cinema, or the food co-op and farmer’s market.
There’s no shortage of things to do on campus. Guest lectures, concerts, bonfires, disc golf, fitness center with climbing wall, our annual powwow—we have no doubt that you’ll find your place in our campus community.
We have a location like nowhere else on Earth. We’re surrounded by over a million acres of forest and the largest freshwater lake in the world, both serving as living laboratories and natural playgrounds.
Whether you’re into hiking, kayaking, biking, skiing, fishing, hunting, or even dog sledding, Northland is in a prime location. The Northland Outpost has a wide range of rental gear, which means you can try your hand at all sorts of outdoor activities.
