Northland College and Northwood Technical College are excited to announce the third annual Career Connections Expo, scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Northland College Chapple Family Gymnasium, Kendrigan Center.
This event has become a cornerstone of career development in the region, fostering connections between students, community members, and employers. Spearheading this year’s Expo is Sophie Holz, the new director of student career services at Northland College, whose vision is to create meaningful networking opportunities in a welcoming atmosphere.

With over forty employers already signed up, attendees can expect a diverse range of career opportunities, including part-time, full-time, and seasonal positions, as well as internships and volunteer roles. Employers represent a variety of fields, offering something for everyone.
“While this year’s Expo will be slightly smaller than previous years, this aligns well.” Holz noted, “We’re focusing on providing quality connections that truly resonate with students and local job seekers.”
The collaboration between Northland College and Northwood Technical College continues to strengthen career pathways in the Chequamegon Bay area. Students will benefit from direct access to employers, alongside resources to help them navigate career choices and educational opportunities.
Attendees can enjoy a supportive environment designed to ease networking, with complimentary refreshments and giveaways adding to the day’s energy. The event’s welcoming spirit ensures that everyone—whether exploring first-time employment or pursuing advanced career opportunities—feels encouraged to engage. Event co-planner, Melissa Weber, student recruitment specialist at Northwood Technical College, noted that the expo is a fantastic opportunity for students at both institutions, as well as high school students and community members, to learn about career opportunities and build their professional network.
