Head Women’s Hockey Coach Kelly Rider has announced her first recruit. Kylie Fahmer, a forward from Fort Worth, Texas, has committed to playing for the LumberJills in their inaugural season in 2016-2017.
“Kylie is a talented player, but an even better person and just the type of student-athlete we are looking to help build our program’s culture and foundation,” Rider said.
A senior at Timber Creek High School, Fahmer began playing hockey at age six in Okinawa, Japan. She has played the last four season with the Dallas Stars 19U Elite team and was an alternate captain last year. She helped the Stars reach the USA Hockey National Tournament two of the last three seasons.
“It is so exciting to be part of history and to have our first women’s hockey player sign her celebratory form for Northland College,” Rider said.
