Humanity and nature studies is a versatile major that allows you to customize your education experience and skills to move on to a large variety of careers across multiple fields. It mixes liberal arts studies with environmental courses to prepare you to tackle worldwide issues like climate change.
You’ll study a variety of cultural and natural issues and develop a sophisticated understanding of how humans continue to conceive, construct, and fulfill their relationships to the natural world. Combine this major with courses from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences to fully prepare you for graduate studies or a career in environmental law and environmental humanities, the Peace Corps, green teaching programs, government, advertising, public policy, community planning, nature therapy, or the non-profit sector.

Global Humanities Emphasis
Prepare yourself to think about environmental humanities at the planetary level as you learn how issues of gender, poverty, and global regionalism intersect with nature and natural systems.

Social Science and Leadership
Discover how humans impact the natural environment and learn how you can positively affect it in the future. You’ll study how human groups function and how to change human behavior toward the environment.

Natural History
Discover how biological communities interact with human communities by studying science, biology and environmental stewardship. You will also heavily develop your writing and analytical skills, preparing you for a variety of careers.
