We are looking for solutions to complex global problems and chemistry provides the key. As a chemistry major, you’ll go beyond learning the properties of elements, molecules, and other fundamental principles, you’ll also study advanced chemical technologies to improve our energy efficiency and reduce our environmental impact.
The hands-on coursework in this major—including organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical thermodynamics, quantum mechanics and other fields of study—prepares you for graduate school and for many different career paths related to addressing environmental and energy crises. Career options include working in industry, government agencies, medicine, law, and policy.
