This dynamic position provides professional and positive customer service. This position requires analyzing student accounts, financial aid, and providing counseling to resolve both simple and complex questions within financial aid.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine the student’s individual need via phone, email, or in person; provide appropriate forms to students in the areas of financial aid, billing, and/or refer to appropriate departments. This involves monitoring email accounts and voice mailboxes numerous times per day to address inquiries in a timely manner. Respond to questions regarding billing, financial aid, SAP payment deadlines, tuition rates, and 1098T tax forms. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, a variety of financial aid-related information to students and parents. Explain aid programs, application procedures, and eligibility criteria.
- Work closely with the student accounts receivable coordinator to ensure accurate account balances with financial aid, payments on accounts, and communicate outstanding aid requirements that impact student accounts.
- Process award letters for incoming students and assist with packaging for returning students. Relay communications about missing information. Receive and review paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Update electronic and physical files as needed. Ensure accuracy in preparation for audit.
- Assist with and prepare student files for verification and packaging review. Communicate to the student what is required and ensure process is completed in a timely manner in relation to the academic year.
- Assist with the student employment program, informing and advising students of general work-study terms and conditions, and providing required forms.
- Coordinate default loan prevention programs, letters, and processes.
- Prepare financial aid files for closing once students have graduated or withdrawn. Ensure that aid recalculation is completed and exit materials have been offered within thirty days of exit.
- Assist with data preparation for Wisconsin state grant programs.
- Serve as the College’s veteran’s certifying official (under the supervision of the chief financial officer).
- Develop materials for use in financial aid presentations. Give presentations on financial aid to specific groups when appropriate.
Other Responsibilities
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to function as a contributing member of a team are important. The person in this position should be able to work collaboratively and have a commitment to exceptional student service, effective computer application skills, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and a minimum two years of financial aid experience preferred, or any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
