Join Timber Wolf Alliance Chair Adrian Wydeven and TWA Advisory Council members for this wolf ecology volunteer-certification course. Learn about wolf ecology, wolf monitoring techniques, and the latest wolf issues from biologists and educators immersed in this field. Time will be spent in the classroom and in the field surveying wolf pack territories. Participants will assist with wolf howling surveys and learn techniques in wolf tracking and radio telemetry.
This workshop meets the ecology qualifications for being a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources volunteer carnivore tracker for winter wolf counts, volunteer wolf howler to survey in summer, and the training for the Timber Wolf Alliance’s Speakers Bureau.
This workshop is open to any adult or student interested in wolves and experiencing them in the wild. Workshop fees include meals and all workshop materials.
The program takes place at the Forest Lodge Educational Campus, a unique and historic estate nestled among 872 acres of majestic forest in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and situated along the pristine shores of Lake Namekagon. The old growth forest and serene water is sure to awaken your senses and rejuvenate you.
