The Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute’s Outdoor Pursuits program is partnering with Wilderness Medical Associates to host a two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course. WFA is the best and most comprehensive course of its kind to offer relevant and realistic first-aid training for seasonal outdoor activities or short-term wilderness endeavors and pursuits. Wilderness First Aid is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures. The course is taught by professional instructors with significant patient care and backcountry experience.
This course is open to Northland College students, faculty, and staff, as well as to the public. Course fee includes all instruction and course materials for both days. All course participants must be fully vaccinated (and boosted, if eligible) with one of the nationally accepted COVID-19 vaccines. The course meets in 169 Larson-Juhl Center for Science and the Environment.
