Are you interested in working or interning for a federal agency, office, or department? If so, your first step is to understand how to search and apply for positions through USAJOBS.gov. It can feel overwhelming, but we’ve got your back!
This event is open to current Northland College students, faculty, and staff only.
Lucas Westcott, who has built a career working in (and hiring others into) the National Park Service, will lead this popular annual workshop. You will get an overview of setting up your USAJOBS account, searching for opportunities, understanding the fine print and various hiring authorities, document uploading, what to expect during the hiring process—including potential assessment tests—and a ton of pointers on developing a federal resume (including a peek at his own!).
Enjoy Pizza Pub pizza and refreshments as you follow along with his tutorial on your own device. Questions are encouraged and will be addressed throughout, but you can also choose to stay after for further discussion and networking with Lucas, too.
Registration
Space (and food!) is limited, so please register to confirm your spot and to share the kind of pizza and drinks you’d prefer.
Please email sholz@northland.edu with any questions.
