Join SOEI Outdoor Pursuits leaders (and guest instructor Professor Jon Martin!) for an adventurous day of exploring the large white pines that grace the bank of the White River on Northland’s Maxbel Cora Maxwell Nature Study Area just south of campus. Learn technical rope ascension techniques. Learn about ongoing research projects currently being conducted by Northland natural resources faculty and students. Get to know one of the coolest professors at Northland! No technical tree climbing experience necessary. Transportation, experienced instructors, lunch, and all equipment provided.
The full cost of facilitating this SOEI day outing ($75.00/person) has been largely offset by a generous grant from the John C. Bock Foundation. What’s more, to meet our goal of ensuring equitable access to our experiences, students may choose from three price-point options.
There will be a pre-trip meeting in the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute on Thursday, October 28 at 6 p.m. This outing will depart from the SOEI at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 30.
