Stewards of Tomorrow: Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Leadership and Adventure is for youth 13–17 years old interested in a multi-day wilderness experience and building skills and confidence in leadership and outdoor travel. We will travel to northern Minnesota where we will car camp for the first two days. During these two days, we will visit Sigurd Olson’s Listening Point, meet with and help local organizations, and explore the area. Thursday, we will paddle into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for a five-day paddle trip. On our last day, we will leave the wilderness and drive back to Ashland, Wisconsin.
Participants will learn skills in self care, reading maps and compasses, communication, outdoor living, cooking, natural history, and leading groups. We will also be including regular opportunities for art, stewardship, and reflection. Participants will be led by three professional guides with years of paddling, group, and outdoor experience.
Registration has closed. We hope your youth can join us for a future outing!
