Northland College is once again providing FREE ski passes for Northland’s local ski hill, Mt. Ashwabay, for any currently registered student who would like one. What’s more, SOEI Outdoor Pursuits will be offering a FREE shuttle up to the ski hill and back to campus each Saturday so that you can take advantage of some downhill and/or Nordic (cross country) skiing this semester!
These passes are available immediately! Take advantage of this incredible opportunity and get out skiing ASAP!
How to get your FREE ski pass for Mt. Ashwabay:
There are two, similar options for Northland students to get their free Mt. Ashwabay ski passes.
1) Option 1 (which will speed things up for you at the ski hill)
a) Send your name, student ID number, and a current picture of yourself by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
b) Mt. Ashwabay will prepare and print your pass so that it is waiting for you at the ski hill.
c) The next time you are at Mt. Ashwabay when the lifts are running, stop into the office, show your current student ID, and pick up your pass!
2) Option 2 (which may include more time standing in line)
a) Northland student travels to Mt. Ashwabay when the lifts are running and shows their current Northland ID at the office.
b) Mt. Ashwabay takes their picture and prints their pass.
Please note: this winter, lifts are running Saturdays from 9:30 to 4:30; Sundays from 10:30 to 4:30; Wednesdays from 12:00 to 6:00; and (after Jan. 22nd) Fridays from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Northland students should avoid trying to get a pass between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays, as that is a very busy time for rentals and day passes.
Don’t have a vehicle? No worries- catch a ride with SOEI Outdoor Pursuits!
SOEI Outdoor Pursuits leaders will be departing campus from the Ponzio Campus Center at 10:00 am every Saturday this winter to provide a FREE shuttle up to Mt. Ashwabay. The shuttle will stay onsite and then depart from the ski hill at 2:00pm to return to campus. This free shuttle service will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and departs promptly at 10:00am (so arrive at least 5 minutes early to ensure your seat!).”
