How a Sociology Devoid of Social Justice Does More Harm than Good
We are living in a moment when the term “Social Justice Warrior” is lobbed as an insult and college professors are being accused of indoctrinating our students to believe in a “liberal agenda.” How does a sociology informed by social justice respond?
Angela Stroud is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Social Justice at Northland College. She received her PhD in sociology from the University of Texas in 2012 and is in her seventh year at Northland. She teaches classes in race and racism, gender, crime, community, and theory, and is the author of the 2016 book Good Guys with Guns: The Appeal and Consequences of Concealed Carry.
