Our Outdoor Adventure Leadership program is a partnership program with UW 4-H Extension designed for youth in sixth through ninth grades. “Paddle and Fish” is for youth 10-14 years old interested in fishing and paddling on both rivers and lakes. Participants will choose their own adventure, learning how to make decisions based on both individual interests and group needs; learn about protection of watersheds, lakes and rivers; meet with local experts; and, learn more about and practice both paddling and fishing. Participants will need to bring their own fishing gear. SOEI Youth Programs will provide boats, paddles and lifejackets. Limited to five participants per program. Youth will meet at the SOEI at 8:30am and return by 5:30pm each afternoon.
COVID Protocols will be implemented for all summer 2021 programs. This includes masks worn at all times; traveling in vans at half capacity, double-masked; staff and students will not attend if they have any symptoms of COVID; and, hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be available at all times. It is possible these protocols may change.

We will not turn a student away for lack of financial funds. Please contact us if our lowest event cost is a challenge for you.
Participants will meet at the SOEI and travel in Northland College vans to Mt. Ashwabay each day. In the afternoons they will travel to local trails.
