Love to camp but haven’t tried it on the snow? Join SOEI Outdoor Pursuits for a one-night excursion to the Rainbow Lake Wilderness. Learn the art of using a hot tent (a canvas tent and wood stove), cooking over a fire, and staying warm out there in winter. At the end, you’ll be certified to rent hot tents from the Outpost for your own winter camping with friends.
This event is open to current Northland College students, faculty, and staff.
The full cost of facilitating this SOEI day outing ($375.00/person) has been largely offset by a generous grant from the Endeavor Foundation. What’s more, to meet our goal of ensuring equitable access to our experiences, students may choose from three price-point options.
There will be a pre-trip meeting in the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute on Tuesday, January 24, at 6 p.m. This outing will depart from the SOEI at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, and return by 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29.
Registration has closed. We hope you can join us on a future outing!
