The world of Microsoft Word can be overwhelming and filled with many unknown buttons. On top of it, your professor is asking you to turn in a paper with a very vague, yet oddly specific format—MLA format.
Megan will take you through the basics of setting up your document for your English class, walk you through setting up your lab reports, and Julie Winter, from career services, will stop in and talk about setting up a resume. Once registered you will be sent a link with instructions on how to download your free copy of the Microsoft Office Suite.
By the end you will be able to:
– Change document margins
– Change paragraph spacing
– Setting up your paper in MLA format
– Create a useful naming scheme
– Reducing file sizes
– Saving your document as a PDF
You will leave with a little guide book that includes some word basics.
Note: the workshop will be limited to ten students and Covid protocols must be observed throughout (masks, social distancing, sanitization of space after use.) If you would like to engage in the workshop but are not comfortable attending in person, please email Megan and ask about a remote option.
