Girls Empowered Leadership and Adventure: Backpack—Isle Royale is for girls 13–15 years old interested in a seven-day wilderness backpacking experience with peers on one of the most beautiful islands on Earth! For seven days and six nights, we will camp on Isle Royale, learning about ourselves, each other, and the island while taking in the pristine beauty of Lake Superior.
Participants should plan on six days of travel, hiking 3–10 miles a day, with plenty of time to enjoy our time on the island and our campsite. Program staff—who are seasoned outdoor guides—are familiar with the cultural and natural history of the region and will share the stories of the national park throughout our seven days together. We will also make time for art and stewardship as we travel throughout the island.
