Girls Empowered Backpacking is for girls 13–15 years old interested in a five-day introductory wilderness and backpacking experience with peers. Our goal is to get to Stockton Island and is our number one choice. If this permit is not available when sites open up, our back-up plan is to hike beautiful North Country Trail, moving through the Northwoods during the day, stopping at lakes or rivers for a refreshing evening.

Participants should plan on three days of travel with one down day to explore the natural landscape. Travel days will be anywhere from three to seven miles of hiking a day, with plenty of time to enjoy our time at the campsites. Program staff are seasoned outdoor guides and are familiar with the cultural and natural history of the region. We will also make time for art and stewardship as we travel together.

Cost: $360 – $40 (sliding scale)

Please Note: The Health Information Form must be turned in to SOEI Youth Programs in order to participate in the program. Please mail this in as soon as possible.
