The annual holiday candlelight service is an event that our fellowship eagerly looks forward to each year. The children inspire us with a delightful production, and the contemplative spiral walk invites us to receive the blessings of the season.
It is a time each year when we make room for something new in our lives; a sentiment perhaps felt more deeply this year than most as we say farewell to David Saetre and prepare to welcome our new minister, Stacy Craig, into our hearts.
This year, the children, parents, and teachers of the Religious Education program have prepared a holiday play based on the Russian folk-story titled Baboushka. As the tale goes, Baboushka still searches for the Christ child she learned of once long ago from the traveling sages. In addition to the play and David’s reflection on the season, there will be congregational singing of traditional carols.
The CUUF string ensemble will accompany our traditional walk through the spiral of greens. The service will close with a candlelight carol followed by fellowship and refreshments. Please bring a dish to share. We hope you will join us for this special service.
