Join SOEI Outdoor Pursuits staff for a fun getaway to enjoy the award-winning Hayward Hospital Gateway Trail. Part of a larger community wellness initiative, CAMBA’s Gateway trail consists of ‘flowy’ dirt single track trails winding through the forests and around streams and lakes in the vicinity of the Hayward Hospital. No previous mountain biking experience necessary; this award-winning trail was built with families and beginning bikers in mind. Experienced riders will find the trail engaging and interesting, and the new rider will have ample opportunities to dial in their comfort on some of the region’s finest single-track.
The full cost of facilitating this SOEI day outing ($85.00/person) has been largely offset by a generous grant from the Endeavor Foundation. What’s more, to meet our goal of ensuring equitable access to our experiences, students may choose from three price-point options.
There will be a pre-trip meeting in the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute on Thursday, November 3 at 6 p.m. This outing will depart from the SOEI at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5.
All participants must be able to balance on a moving bicycle without aid in order to participate in this outing. Transportation, experienced instructors, lunch, and all equipment provided.
