Who says you can’t bike with snow on the ground? With a fatbike, you can traverse snowy terrain unavailable to bike enthusiasts before! Join SOEI Outdoor Pursuits for a winter ride on the award-winning CAMBA Gateway Trail. No winter biking experience or gear necessary. All bikes and helmets will be provided by New Moon Bike & Ski Shop, a wonderful shop operated by Northland alumni located in Hayward, Wisconsin. All participants must be able to balance on a moving bicycle without aid in order to participate in this outing. Transportation, experienced instructors, lunch, and all equipment provided.
The full cost of facilitating this SOEI day outing ($100.00/person) has been largely offset by a generous grant from the John C. Bock Foundation. What’s more, to meet our goal of ensuring equitable access to our experiences, students may choose from three price-point options.
There will be a pre-trip meeting in the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute on Thursday, March 17 at 6 p.m. This outing will depart from the SOEI at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 19.
