Leap into success! Hone your interviewing skills with immediate feedback from professionals who are here to help you during this fun and interactive event.
How does it work?
5:30–6:00 p.m.—Meet, mix, and mingle with professional contacts in a variety of fields, and learn about what they do over appetizers. That’s right—a real, in-person, professional networking opportunity!
Starting at 6 p.m.—We’ll provide a quick overview of how the mock interviewing portion will work for everyone, and then the fun really starts!
Interviewers stay seated while students rotate around the room, meeting for fifteen minutes with each interviewer. The interviewer will ask 3–5 common interview questions and provide immediate feedback after they’ve been answered. Students will continue moving down the line to repeat the process with a new interviewer until time is up. Students or interviewers may be grouped together for the rotations, dependent on turnout.
Who can participate?
This event is free and open to current Northland students only.
Junior and senior students of all majors are encouraged to register, especially if you have never had a “real” interview, are getting ready for one, or just want more feedback… this is perfect practice.
Double check with your professors—many are offering extra credit or requiring attendance.
Is there anything else I should know?
Although this is just for practice, it’s also a great example of how real networking contacts can be made. Students are encouraged to dress in business casual or formal attire, and (though not required) bringing copies of your resume is a very professional touch!
Kindly register ahead of time through Handshake so we can secure interviewers based on major areas and ensure food/drink orders are accurate. This event will be capped at forty total students.
