A Northland College Fall Semester Tradition! Join SOEI student leaders and other bicycling enthusiasts for a twenty-six-mile bike ride along the Tri-County Corridor (an old railroad grade with a smooth, crushed lime surface) by moonlight, starlight, or headlamp-light. This annual ride takes place the night before Ashland hosts its annual WhistleStop Marathon, tracing the route that runners will experience the next morning. SOEI Outdoor Pursuits will provide aid stations with snacks, hot cocoa, and good cheer every 10 miles along the route. Finish the ride at the campus fire ring with a bonfire and treats!
The full cost of facilitating this outing ($95.00/person) has been fully offset by a generous grant from the John C. Bock Foundation.
This outing will depart from the campus fire ring at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 8. SOEI Outdoor Pursuits will provide free transportation and bike shuttling for the first twenty people to sign up. This event is open to more than twenty riders, but riders beyond the initial twenty must arrange their own transportation.
