Background

I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Naples, Florida. I moved to Hayward, Wisconsin, when I was in high school and graduated from Hayward High School. I began my undergraduate degree from UW-Milwaukee and was a research assistant in a psychopharmacology lab while working on my psychology degree.

I had my first son in 1998 when my husband and I moved back to Hayward to raise our family. I had two more sons and decided to finish my degrees. Once I completed my undergraduate I went on to obtain my masters and PhD while working in the counseling field. I was a therapist and facilitator for a day treatment program for years and was a school based therapist for the LCO Ojibwe school for ten years.

Currently I am the behavioral health director for the Lac Courte Oreilles tribe, I love this job! I have also been teaching within the counseling and psychology fields since 2009.
