Background

I have taught Head Start through eighth grade, various subjects including music, and served as a school administrator for sixteen years. I also substitute teach in neighboring districts in order to keep current in the field of education. Sharing teaching experiences is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

Why Northland?

The small class sizes allow instructors to work closely with students. The sincerity and caring of the faculty and staff is exemplary. The environment of the community and beauty of Lake Superior greatly enhances the Northland experience.

Courses

Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment
Teaching in the Middle School

Student Involvement

My courses consist of cooperative learning, study of current literature, problem solving, higher order thinking, and most importantly, practical experiences in the field of education. Since we do not know what path our current kindergarten students will choose and their careers are yet unknown, the three T's are essential to my curriculum: teaming, thinking, and technology.

Personal Interests

Reading, scrapbooking, travel, and granddaughter time.
