Background
I grew outside of St. Louis, Missouri, but I’ve also lived in western North Carolina and eastern South Dakota. My background has focused on natural resources and ecology. I worked for an environmental consulting firm based in the Smoky Mountains. I later transitioned to teaching in higher education, where I also advised both current and incoming students. Our family moved to Ashland to join the Northland community, and we love being in the north woods!
Why Northland?
I love the environmental focus of not only the academics, but in everyday life at Northland. I enjoy working with my colleagues and students and the strong sense of community.
Student Involvement
I work with prospective students from northern Wisconsin, the northeastern US, and Canada. As their resource at Northland, I guide them through the application process, financial aid, and enrollment requirements. I also attend college fairs, visit high schools, and help students explore the opportunities available at Northland.
As a digital photography instructor, I help students develop skills in using SLR cameras, editing software, and honing their eye for composition. I also collaborate closely with the Athletics Department and the Office of Marketing Communications on various campus photo projects, including media days, headshots, and event photography.
Interests
I love hiking, nature photography, tie dyeing, home renovations, and my flower gardens.
