I am was born and raised in Oklahoma, but spent my summers on Madeline Island. Naturally I fell in love with this area and decided in 2004 to make it my home. I have spent my career as an educator, mentor, advocate, and helping to empower students to achieve their goals. I have taught elementary school and college, and I know that working with students and helping to inspire them is my calling.
Northland is such an amazing part of this community. The college mission, the passion for the environment, and the commitment to social justice aligns with my personal values. I have lifelong friends that I met while attending Northland and they are some of the coolest people ever.
My role is to ensure that students are having a holistic student experience at Northland. My goal is to combine outreach, wellness, education, and fun. I want the students to know that they can count on me for support, as a guide and a mentor. I welcome ideas about student interests. From personal experience, I know that success is more attainable when you are happy!
I love spending time with my 3 daughters. My favorite things to do are usually outside...hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, etc. I love live music and festivals. I am not so much of a winter person, but have learned to make the most of it with some skiing and ice fishing. My dream day is at the beach, snorkeling and looking for Lake Superior agates!
