Background
I am a first generation college student from Denver, Colorado. Although I've lived most of my life out west, I love the north woods and the wild waters of Lake Superior.
Research
As an environmental-health sociologist, my research examines which groups in society experience more exposure to environmental hazards (e.g. air pollution, poor water quality, etc.) and how that increased exposure affects human health. To conduct my research, I use theoretical and methodological frameworks from multiple fields including sociology, epidemiology, environmental justice, and atmospheric science.
