BS Northland College, Ashland, WI
MS Wright State University, Dayton, OH
I worked at the Burke Center while I was a Northland student. After graduation, I completed my masters in earth and environmental science. My research has always revolved around water quality, working on Lake Superior and its tributaries at Northland, and working in the Western basin of Lake Erie for graduate school.
I was drawn back to the Chequamegon Bay area after graduating from Northland and have always loved the area. Northland gave me opportunities that other colleges can't, with the undergraduate research and the small community who is passionate about their work and Lake Superior.
The Applied Research and Environmental Lab provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in research projects, water chemistry and the chance to enhance their knowledge in lab techniques. It also provides a chance for students to integrate and communicate with the greater Chequamegon community through their research with the Burke Center.
I always love to get outside by hiking, canoeing, or kayaking. I also teach dance classes in the area both in Washburn and Park Falls. I currently live in Washburn and as I like to say "I permanently drink milk from a bag" because I am walking distance from Tetzner's Dairy.
