Background

I joined Northland College in September, 2013. As the executive director of institutional marketing, I am responsible for planning and implementing a college-wide strategic marketing communications program that promotes Northland College to its various stakeholders, including current and prospective students, donors, employees, media, community leaders, and the general public. I am also responsible for developing annual advertising, publications, marketing, public relations, news and social media, and promotional strategies that are designed to increase enrollment and donations to the College while also highlighting and advancing the College's programs and services.

Prior to joining Northland College, I spent fifteen years in non-profit and higher education. Most recently, I was the director of external relations at the College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, leading marketing, public relations, gallery programming, fund development, and community education. Prior to CVA, I served as the director of marketing and audience development for Park Square Theatre in downtown Saint Paul, the campaign manager for the expansion and renovation of the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, and the founding director of marketing and events for the start up of the Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville, Iowa.

Student Involvement

The Marketing Communications department has various work-study positions and internships available. These range from social media and graphic design to writing support. We want the student perspective to come through our work and welcome you to come and introduce yourself if you have an interest in marketing communications.

Personal Interests

I love the sun and summer. So, I love to hike with my family in this region. And to keep warm in the winter, I downhill skiing with my two kids.
