Earned and Honorary Degrees
BA Cinema Arts and Science, Columbia College Chicago
MS Higher Education Administration, St. Cloud State University
Background
I grew up in Owatonna in southern Minnesota. I went to college in downtown for Chicago for film, and instead found my love for working with students and helping them as an RA. From Chicago, I moved to western Kansas and started my career in residential life. I have worked at St. Cloud State University and at Buena Vista University as a hall director and an area coordinator while getting my master’s degree in higher education administration.
Why Northland?
I was super excited to find Northland, a school with a unique mission. The students and staff here are kind and care so much for the environment and one another. Being alongside lake and the abundance of nature, there was no where else I wanted to be.
Student Involvement
I always try to get students involved by creating fun programs, having an open door, and being there later at night. It’s the perk of being in residence life—I am here for students no matter the hour. Some of the best conversations that I have had with students are at 2 a.m. after a long night.
Interests
You can usually find me reading or playing with my dog. I enjoying going hiking, swimming, and spending all the time I can on the water. I also like to cook and make homemade pasta noodles.
