BS Hospitality and Tourism Management, Northern Illinois University (2016)
AAS Hospitality and Tourism Management, Fox Valley Technical College (2002)

Background

I lived in Erie, Pennsylvania, until I was sixteen when my parents moved our family to Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where I graduated high school. I consider myself a Wisconsinite! I worked in hotels for over fifteen years, mostly in guest service. I love meeting people and hearing their stories. I earned my BS as a nontraditional student while my husband was earning his PhD at Northern Illinois University (2017). We moved to Arkansas in 2018 and both worked at a university there. He taught in the English department, and I worked in the University Foundation. We found ourselves moving back to the Midwest unexpectedly in Fall 2022 when the university eliminated over eighty faculty positions, among other major changes. We live in Ironwood, Michigan, and my husband teaches at Gogebic Community College.

Why Northland?

Moving to the area, I was hoping to continue working in higher education, especially in advancement. I am grateful that Northland had an opening!

Interests

I ran the 2020 Little Rock Half Marathon right before everything shut down for COVID! I love thrift store shopping and especially finding mid-century decor. I love hiking and photography. My husband Andrew and I have a sixteen-pound cat named Otis (named after Otis Redding).
