Alex began working for Chartwells Higher Ed at University of WI - Lacrosse as a culinarian in December 2017. Born and raised in Ashland WI, Alex was drawn back home in 2019 to settle down and raise his family in the Ashland Community. Chartwells Higher Ed was eager to retain Alex as the Sous Chef at Northland College after he relocated. Alex is a passionate Vegan Chef who enjoys incorporating local products into his everyday menu production to create appetizing and appealing meals. He enjoys utilizing plant-based proteins and educating clients and students about the benefits plant-based proteins can bring to the everyday diet. When Alex is not in the kitchen or working in Baldwin Commons, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Betsy, and two children, Alexis and Eli. Hobbies also include hiking, playing table-top games, swimming and being the best Dad he can be (it's the most important job he has!).
