Know Your Responsibilities
COVID pledge.
Please read this document carefully and review it with the participant before agreeing. If you have any questions, concerns, or feel that you have a condition that would warrant a waiver from wearing a face covering, please consult with the SOEI Youth Outreach Programs staff.
As a participant of SOEI Youth Outreach Programs, I understand that participants must be vaccinated to participate in overnight programs. I also agree that as a participant I will take an at-home COVID test on the day I arrive for the program. I also understand that if I have problems with these arrangements I can contact SOEI Youth Programs staff and discuss options.
As a participant of SOEI Youth Outreach Programs, I pledge to act in a manner consistent with the best interests of the community as a whole. I agree to follow the policies written below and to meet these expectations with integrity.
I recognize that over time, and as circumstances change, the policies and expectations may also change, therefore I commit to potential new policies and expectations and to adjusting my behavior.
I also understand that if I fail to follow the COVID-19 policies and expectations of SOEI Youth Outreach Programs that I may forfeit the opportunity to continue as a participant of the program.
COVID Policies and Expectations
These expectations are designed to keep our community as safe and healthy as possible.
Hygiene
Participants are asked to clean their hands regularly, washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Adequate supplies of soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes will be available during program travel, meals, recreation and camp.
Physical Distancing
The goal of physical distancing is to limit exposure by reducing face-to-face contact and preventing spread among people in a community settings. Face coverings will not serve as a substitute for physical distancing. Whenever possible, all participants will adhere to national physical distancing recommendations (six feet apart at minimum) when engaging in SOEI programs.
Face Coverings
Face coverings are required while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Cloth masks are acceptable in gatherings shorter than 20 minutes. You are also required to wear a face covering in Northland vehicles.
Daily Self-checks
Inform SOEI Youth Program staff if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature higher than 100.4 in the last 24 hours
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
Van Travel
When Northland vans, you are required to wear a face covering regardless of vaccination status. Travel is allowed at full capacity, but N-95 or KN-95 masks are required. Double-masking with cloth or surgical masks does not meet the College’s requirements for travel. Masks will be provided for van travel.
Campus Visitors
All guests and visitors are subject to the College’s policies and health protocols. All visitors and guests must comply with the College’s COVID-19 Campus Plan and follow all guidance, direction and requirements regarding COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Visitors and guests of Northland College are subject to the expectations regarding masking and physical distancing as outlined in the plan.
