The Timber Wolf Alliance hosted the Great Lakes Wolf Symposium October 20-22, 2020, coinciding with Wolf Awareness Week. Northland College hosts this symposium every four years. Due to COVID-19, 2020’s symposium was held virtually. The next Great Lakes Wolf Symposium will be held during the third week of October 2024.
The intent of the symposium is to provide an opportunity for researchers and other wildlife professionals to share research and knowledge regarding wolves in the Great Lakes region. The geographic scope of the symposium is regional and centered on the Great Lakes region: states, tribes, and provinces within or adjacent to current wolf range within the Great Lakes region. This range includes jurisdictions that currently do not have an established wolf population, but may occasionally detect dispersing wolves.
