About the Coaches
About Coach Scott Sorenson
Coach Sorenson took over as the head coach at Northland College before the 2012-13 season. Coach Sorenson was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Coach of the Year following the 2016-17 season. The LumberJacks have recently had the most success the program has seen since the late 1990s. Multiple First Team All-Conference players have come through the Northland College program since Coach Sorenson has been at the helm.
Prior to taking over the LumberJacks, Sorenson spent time as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division II level (Minnesota-Crookston and Bemidji State). Before that, he was an assistant at Lakeland University and also spent time working for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers program.
