Join us to become a part of the Brother Bear story and enjoy a weekend in the woods of northern Wisconsin. All daytime programs listed below are FREE (unless otherwise noted)! Complete the registration form below to attend any of them.

Friday, September 22

Camping at Camp Brother Bear
3:00 p.m. Check in
Camp among the trees in the Penokee Mountains as we build community and share in the love of nature and adventure! Get away from it all as you reconnect with friends. Camping registration is required, and space is limited.

Saturday, September 23

Morning Shakedown
9:00–9:30 a.m
Get ready for a fun-filled day at Camp Brother Bear! Whether you wake up on site or arrive at camp Saturday morning, we will kick off the day with the Morning Shakedown! Check in with our welcome team, warm up that adventurous spirit, and meet your morning activity leaders.
Disc Golf Clinic
9:30–11:00 a.m.
Are you new to disc golf, or do want to pick up new skills? Learn the necessary how-tos of disc golf in the scenic Highbridge Hills. Thanks to Northland College’s Logistical Support Center, there will be equipment available to use as you try your hand at disc golf. Learn from our own Northland alum Alec Malenfant ’17, who will be assisted by current students and resident experts!

Casual Bike Ride
9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
The backroads of the Penokee Hills sport some of the best gravel biking in the world. Bring your bike and enjoy an informal group ride led by experienced riders. This route will be ~18 miles on gravel roads. A mountain bike or another gravel-ready bike that can safely handle unpaved surfaces is required. Longer routes are possible for more experienced riders. Disc Golf Open Play
9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
All Access Pass Required
Is disc golf a part of your lifestyle? Are you looking for a new activity to add to your repertoire? Explore one or all of the five epic courses located within this magnificent two-hundred-acre property nestled in the Penokee Hills. Try your hand at disc golf, or join in some friendly competition with your crew. Access to the disc golf courses is included in your Camp Brother Bear All Access Pass.
Lunch Break
12–2 p.m.
Enjoy food from the School District of Ashland food truck, UP North Kettle Corn, or other fare from student organizations like Northland’s Nordic Ski Club.
Natural History Walk
1–4 p.m.
Join Professor of Geology Tom Fitz as he leads this north woods nature hike for those looking to learn a little while taking in the autumn beauty of the north woods. Space is limited—please register to ensure your spot.
Casting Clinic
2–4 p.m.
Learn how to cast from the guys who learned from Bjorn Norgaard himself! The Hayward Fly Fishing Company has close ties to Bjorn and the Norgaard family. They look forward to sharing the skills that were so meaningful to their friend and fellow fly fisherman.
Drum and Rhythm Adventure Workshop
2–3 p.m.
Join this drumming workshop led by Stevie Matier, a world-traveled drummer with Different Drums of Ireland and more recently The O’Bros. Explore a variety of world drums, their therapeutic effects on the mind and body, and creating community through drumming. Some drums provided. Please bring your own Djembe type drums, as well. No experience necessary.

This Jam-packed lineup is going to have you rocking out with local talent and legendary favorites! The evening will warm up with the sounds of alumni sweethearts The Rose and Tim Duo and the collective talent of The Groove Project—A Jazz Odyssey, and the good vibes will continue with Bad Columbus and Floydian Slip. We are thrilled to include the Big Wu in our lineup this year! We are ready to jam under the stars at Camp Brother Bear, and this line up will not disappoint! Get your All Access Pass and join us for this epic night of music, merriment, and memory-making experiences.

Camping Tear-down
2–3 p.m.
Teamwork makes the dream work! After two days of frolic and fun, it’s time to pack it up. Northlanders are great at creating something special, and when it’s all done, we leave it better than we found it!
