Fall Festival 2022

Fall Festival is extra special this year and includes three key events over four days. Join us on Wednesday and Thursday for a conference celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute and the Harvest Trail Dinner. Then, Friday and Saturday we will celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Northland College with a convocation, tours, outings, and an all-call Alumni Reunion!

There is plenty to do during the week and even some great pre-festival activities.

Seating will be outside in an event tent.
	7 p.m. Baldwin Commons	FREE COMEDY WITH JON HUCK ’98 – As seen on the Hugo’s Pizza wall: Jon Huck ’98 returns to Northland for a comeback tour of comedy to entertain students, alumni, and friends during Fall Festival!

130th Anniversary and Alumni Reunion—Day One

	10 a.m. Civic Center	$5 Mural Trolley Tours of Downtown Ashland – Take a ride on the Ashland Trolley and see what the mural capital of Wisconsin has to offer. For only $5 to support our local community this is a steal of a historic ride. Pick up at the east end of the Civic Center. $5.00 per person cash only!

	1–3 p.m. Ponzio Campus Center	Alumni Board Meeting—Official meeting of the Northland College Alumni Board.
	3:00–4:30 p.m. Campus Mall	130th Reception in honor of Class of 2020—This pre-convocation social will celebrate our 2020 alumni with the faculty and staff who didn’t get to say goodbye. Alumni, especially our 2020 grads, their friends, and families are encouraged to join. Current Faculty and Staff will be on hand with an open invitation to former colleagues to return and reconnect with the campus community before the 130th Convocation.
	4:30–5:30 p.m. Tent on Mall	130th Convocation—The entire Northland family is invited to celebrate our 130 year history and resolve in our commitment to facing the next 130 years with the same Northland grit that allows us to be here today. The program will include a presentation of appreciation to the family of Joe Rose ’58 in recognition of the deep impact he had on the campus community during his time at Northland and recognition of the Class of 2020. All are invited to join in the festivities.
	6–9 p.m. Howard Pearson Plaza	Downtown Beer Garden hosted by the City of Ashland and Northland Talent Showcase emceed by Jon Huck ’98—Welcome home to Ashland, Wisconsin! Join Alumni and friends at Howard Pearson Plaza at 600 West Main Street for a beer garden and entertainment by our very own talented Northlanders! Join the set list by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@northland.edu. Start your evening off right and enjoy your old Main Street haunts.

130th Anniversary and Alumni Reunion—Day Two

	8 a.m.–12 p.m. Chapple Ave., Ashland	Farmers Market on Chapple Avenue in Ashland—This weekly tradition hosts a number of alumni vendors and is a great opportunity for folks to connect at the holy trio of Northland favorites: The Black Cat, The Ashland Baking Company, and The Chequamegon Food Co-op.
	8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Ponzio Campus Center	Check-in Open—Let us know you arrived and get everything you need to enjoy the weekend! Don’t forget your name tag!
	9–10 a.m. East Lawn of Kendrigan Center	Hall of Fame Reception—The Northland College Athletic Department and Hall of Fame Committee invite alumni and friends to this social hour prior to the formal induction of our newest members of the Athletic Hall of Fame.
	9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute	Fall Fest Kids Play—Experienced youth program leaders will lead an excursion up the Bayfield Peninsula so both you and your youth can enjoy Fall Fest. This experience is open to youth ages 5–17, and there is a $10 registration fee to help cover the cost of supplies. Transportation is provided, and the pick-up and drop-off location is the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute building on campus. Register Now.
	9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute	Outdoor Pursuits Conservation Outing: National Public Lands Day of Service—Outdoor Pursuits will lead volunteers in a conservation opportunity in partnership with the National Forest Service. Spend the day helping make the north woods a fun and safe place to appreciate and recreate. Transportation to and from the Northland College campus and lunch are provided for this free outing. After two years of being apart, all alumni are invited to attend this Northland celebration! Find your favorite orange and blue attire—an old Northland sweatshirt or jersey or new digs in our school colors—all forms of school spirited expression are appreciated. We look forward to an evening of reconnecting with old friends, presenting Brownell Keys to alumni from the classes of 1970, 1971, and 1972, sharing some Northland traditions, and recognizing our dear Bob Parsonage, a former president of the College who passed away this past year. The Orange & Blue Dinner will be FREE for alumni. Dining will be outside in the event tent.

Chequamegon Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Worship Service—CUUF Minister, Stacy Craig (’04) will give the message, A Superior Blessing, celebrating the beauty and power of Lake Superior and what it can teach us about beauty, chaos, and healing. The Chequamegon Unitarian Universalist Fellowship believes wholeheartedly in being a Welcoming Congregation.
