This is your chance to explore the significance of gender—as well as other categories of identity—in diverse historical and contemporary social and political contexts. The gender and women’s studies minor at Northland is distinguished by its interdisciplinary nature: you might be taking courses in philosophy, history, Native American studies, sociology, sustainable community development, psychology, or outdoor education—all disciplines that raise questions regarding gender that will help you achieve an understanding of the complexity of the world.
Northland College will have revised academic programs beginning in Fall 2024. Some pages may refer to previous programs while updates are made to reflect our refocused offerings.
