Whether you want to teach elementary or high school students, Northland College can help get you there. We offer certification in Elementary/Middle Education and in Middle/Secondary Education in math, science, and social studies.
We give you the tools to establish a trusting environment and to foster the group dynamics essential to run a successful classroom. Our education courses provide you with the tools to teach content and the skills to help shape the character of children and adolescents. We also give you an environmental background that so many schools are looking for today. In fact, over ninety-five percent of our education majors from the last five years are employed in the K-12 field. Elementary/Middle Major (Grades 1-8)
This focused four-year program, including student teaching, includes project- and problem-based teaching and learning strategies for student success in the classroom. We offer an integrated curriculum that will train you to think across disciplines and deliver the knowledge, skills, and mindset that will help you succeed in indoor and outdoor classrooms. Our program is fully accredited by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Graduates are eligible for teacher licensure for grades 1-8.
