Lodging

Of the many residence halls on the Northland campus, the McLean Environmental Living and Learning Center, opened in 1998, serves as a unique residential space and was an early model for green building. Students played an active role in the building’s design and helped select environmentally-friendly materials including recycled carpet, furniture made from recycled milk jugs and recycled steel, bio-composite counter-tops, low-emissive windows, and natural-based linoleum floors to employ the best use of resources.
