Northland College hereby acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has sued the applicable amount of funds designated under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
The total amount of funds that the institution has or will receive from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is $318,271 and $871,833 respectively for a total of $1,190,104.
The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4).programs as of the date of submission is $1,135,231.
The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs is 686.

The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 454.
The method that will be used to distribute Emergency Financial Aid Grants after the end of May term 2020 was as follows:
- Current full-time eligible students in good standing with an EFC score of 2856 or less will receive a grant of $900
- Current full-time eligible students in good standing with an EFC score of 2857-5576 will receive a grant of $700
- Current full-time eligible students in good standing with an EFC score greater than 5577 will receive a grant of $450.
- The remaining funds were distributed to eligible students through an application process on the basis of additional financial need as a result of the pandemic. Emergency Financial Aid Grants will be used to assist students who require financial assistance due to COVID-19 circumstances and expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the Coronavirus. The goal is to keep students on the path to academic success during this unexpected crisis. Emergency Financial Aid Grants help any currently enrolled student who faced financial difficulties due to COVID-19 from the winter and spring 2020 terms and is enrolled in the 2020-21 academic year. It enables students and families to look to Northland for additional support.

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II)
The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act 2021 (CRRSAA), Public Law 116-260, signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020.
Northland College was awarded $318,271 under Section 134(a) (1) of the CRRSAA Funds. As required in Section 134(c) (3) of the CRRSAA guidance, Northland must prioritize grants to students with exceptional need. In complying with this guidance, Northland disbursed funds to students based on the student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) amounts, as reported in their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, for academic year 2020–2021. Disbursement amounts per student ranged from $500 to $1,000, see below:
