Timber Wolf Alliance
June 2, 2008
A message from Mark Leach, Director of SOEI
The Timber Wolf Alliance, formerly a part of the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute, is moving to the North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. The move will be complete by the end of June. The mission of the Discovery Center is to promote stewardship of the region’s natural and cultural resources. A community-based environmental education center, discover center classes, programs and events are delivered within the context that the better we understand our natural resources, the more likely we are to accept our shared responsibility to look after them. At a time when the status of the wolf is changing, the Discovery Center will help TWA refine its message and reach more people. This move will also allow SOEI staff to focus more energy on engaging students through environmental outreach. TWA programs of tracking workshops, Wolf Awareness Week posters, speakers’ bureau, and wolf reward will continue. For more information about The North Lakeland Discovery Center and current Timber Wolf Alliance projects, please visit www.discoverycenter.net.
During this time of transition the Weekend of Wolves Workshop registration will still be processed through the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute. Please send your registration to the address printed on the brochure.
