Northland College Orientation
The first few days of your first year can prove to be some of the most important of your college experience. This is why, at Northland, we strive to make these first days as exciting, informative, and unique as possible. During Orientation, you will have both on-and off-campus experiences.
Your first day on campus is a busy day. You can plan on:
- moving into your residence halls
- joining other new students and their families for welcome celebrations from different departments on campus
- attending information sessions, some for you, some for your parents and some for both
- meeting your Outdoor Orientation Leaders
- taking care of Business - ID cards, Financial Aid paperwork, Business Office forms and payments.
Students will receive more specific schedule information for Orientation after trip registration begins on May 1. Parents should plan on attending the first day of Orientation from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m.
There are three Outdoor Orientation Sessions. If you live within a reasonable driving distance we ask that you strongly consider one of the first two sessions so we are able to accommodate students who are traveling greater distances in session three. If attending Session one or two you will need to return home at the end of the session until residence halls open on August 31st.
The dates for Outdoor Orientation sessions are:
Session One: August 9th to August 15th (This session is open to all students, however Fall Student Athletes are required to attend this session)
Session One Extended Trips: August 9th to August 18th
Session Two: August 19th To August 25th
Session Three: August 26th to September 1st (Students enrolled in Superior Connections should plan on attending this session)
