Take your time on the water to a new level this summer by paddling with your own hand crafted paddle. We’ll use old timey hand tools to turn a straight grained piece of spruce or cedar into a fully functional, undeniably beautiful and unquestionably unique implement of aquatic self propulsion. This course will cover wood selection, tool use, carving techniques, finishing and care of your new paddle.
Class starts on Wed. the 17th with a two hour class from 5-7 pm where you will design your paddle and trace it onto wood. The weekend workshops (Saturdays March 20 & April 3rd) will take place at the Maxwell property from 9-5 each day, so be ready for two days of wood shaving, paddle making fun.
Transportation, materials, and tools will be provided. You provide your own food. Limit 4 people
FEE:$20
