Recent Staff & Faculty Accomplishments
Chantal Norrgard, Assistant Professor of Native American Studies, cnorrgard@northland.edu
Presented a paper at the Western Historical Association in October 2012. She also authored an article that has been accepted for publication by SUNY Press in the anthology "Tribal Worlds." The publication is expected to be released in early 2013. Norrgard is also working on a book about Ojibwe labor and treaty rights under advance contract with the University of North Carolina Press.
Clayton Russell, Associate Professor of Environmental Education and Outdoor Education, crussell@northland.edu
Authored two book reviews that are expected to be published in the "Natural Areas Journal." Russell also presented on his speech "Knowing OutdoorExperience: A Field Guide for Discovering the Literature and Landscape of Home" at the 40th Annual International Association for Experiential Education Conference. In addition, Russell is coordinating, along with the UW-Extension and the Cable Natural History Museum, cohort trainings for the new Wisconsin Master Naturalist Program.
Kally Malcom, Teaching Fellow of Photographic Arts, kmalcom@northland.edu
Received the "New Hot Pic" award by the Midwest Center for Photography in 2012. A year of gallery representation also accompanied the award. Malcom's work has been exhibited at the center, as well as the Black Box Gallery in Oregon. An exhibit of her photography will debut at Northland's Dexter Library sometime in January 2013.
