Wolf Awareness Week is a time to recognize the importance of wolves as part of our natural systems. Each year, governors around the country proclaim the third week of October as Wolf Awareness Week. Every Wolf Awareness Week season TWA produces two educational posters and a kid’s activity flyer and distributes them to schools, libraries, nature centers and to interested citizens. Over fifty federal, state and tribal agencies and non-profit organizations from around the country from Alaska to Maine sponsor these materials and will distribute them to places and people, blanketing their own communities with information about wolves.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of TWA's commitment to Wolf Awareness Week and the production of the one-of-a-kind Wolf Awareness Week posters. This year we highlight two incredible artists: internationally celebrated wildlife artist, Robert Bateman and acclaimed artist, Ron Orlando. Celebrate with us, by ordering your own posters! Posters will be available and orders accepted starting October 1.

Robert Bateman's realistic painting style, featuring wildlife in its habitat, encourages the viewer to examine the natural world. His art reflects his commitment to ecology. Besides being one of Canada's best known artists, he is a naturalist, recognized by the Audubon Society as one of the century's "heroes of conservation". He is a spokesman for many environmental and preservation issues, using his art to raise millions of dollars for these causes. He has been the subject of numerous books and films; his honors and awards are numerous including Officer of the Order of Canada.

After teaching drawing and painting in the public schools of New Jersey for 35 years, Ron Orlando is now retired from teaching, but not from painting. Animals and nature have played a large role in his life of artist and teacher for many years. However, it was not until twenty years ago that this life long interest became focused towards wildlife art. Working in acrylics, Ron’s deep love of nature, wildlife, and painting has evolved into the detailed style of his present work. Extensive field work and research into the North American birds and mammals he paints, translates into a level of realism. Ron has exhibited in shows throughout the country.
