The Land Stewardship program works in cooperation with private landowners, businesses, agencies, and tribal governments to assist with environmental protection and restoration. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, teams of Northland College faculty, staff, and students assist in determining the capabilities of the land in order to develop more sustainable management goals.
Projects include GIS mapping and analysis, ecological monitoring and research, and community outreach programs. Through its involvement in various projects, the Land Stewardship program works to promote native habitat restoration, forestry activities, and environmental awareness.
