The Lake Superior Binational Forum, a multi-stakeholder group of American and Canadian volunteers, works to restore and protect Lake Superior by offering input to the national, state, and province governments of Canada and the United States. The Forum works with businesses and communities in Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ontario to develop ways to eliminate discharges and toxic substances from the lake and to build sustainable communities in the watershed. The coordinator for the Forum has been located at the Institute since 1992.
